I don't think Littlefinger had such a far-reaching vision. He definitely had a vision with himself at the top, but I don't think he'd ever aim for social reform or empowering others to follow the same path, especially since they would be his competition later on.

One of greyworms weaknesses as well is he doesn't know cavalry. None of the troops he commands are cavalry and his focus is purely spear infantry. If he were to train as a complete field commander he would probably be higher on the list i think

I always assumed little finger meant to ride his chaos to the top, I mean the ladder metaphor implies climbing all the way. Besides he was always perfectly happy to burn everything down and scrape something out of the ashes. Once Robert took the throne the line of succession was tenuous at best, the war of the five kings made it worse and the Lannisters will get what’s coming to them eventually. So like if all five kings plus the lannisters are gone who could stop a resurgent little finger? With a big enough army and the entire continent in ruined he could theoretically be king of the ashes and would likely be fine with that trade. A guy like that places little value on actual physical things, money and cities and all the pretty things a kingdom has means nothing to someone like that. He’s kinda like Vergil from DMC, a guy who will burn the Forrest just to get a better look at the trees.

Another cool note about this theory: multiple times, castles and keeps are referred to as being “woven” with ancient and powerful magic that protects it from outside influence or magic, such as Melisandre needing to be within the walls of Storm’s End to make the shadow baby work… Guest Right might have a lot to do with the magic of the actual locations and what the simple ritual of guest right sort of “trigger” inside the walls. I think Littlefinger would actually be a decent ruler (probably as hand of king for a weak king like Tommen or Robyn). He’s smart, good with money, ruthless against enemies. A choirboy makes a poor Hand (see Ned). Tywin was actually a very good Hand for 20 years. I doubt Littlefinger would try to overthrow the nobility. Once he was in charge I think he’d be quite happy with the system (especially if got Sansa to marry him). He’s not a champion of the people he’s only in it for himself. But he would be a better ruler then Joffrey, Robert, or the Mad king (a low bar admittedly).

I'd say he'd be a fairly benevolent leader. His smallfolk on the Fingers which is the piece of land he actually rules all seem to like him.

I honestly don't have a problem with Little Finger trying to "smash" Sansa Stark. Such relationships and desires are what GOT and Westeros itself are built on. It's a more than natural thing for him to want and pursue and to hold it against him is a failure to understand how the world of GOT works and the natural law that drives it. He can give her is "little finger" all day long as far as I'm concerned.

I would argue that Tarly and Grey Worm barely qualify as strategists, but what they DO accomplish well is be peerless drill masters on the frontline. A fundamentally different skill set than strategy, but useful in its own right. Both found themselves bolstering strategists above them, not requiring them to be strategists themselves.

Littlefinger is a bird who tries to find the highest tree or branch to perch but doesn’t know how to build his nest. He can in the modern age but he is unfortunately born in the medieval age of Westeros.

Here's what Robb should have done: go to the iron islands himself and put Theon in charge. Not even kidding, it was a pretty easy sell. The Iron Born are raiders and the Lannisters are way more profitable to raid than the north (Money, Crops, Luxury goods, woman) and Tywin was directly responsible for killing some Greyjoy (unlike Robb). This would have been so crippling to the Lannisters, Robb could have overwhelmed them. Also, just not agree to a marriage pact with the Frey's. Promise them a Tully or an Arryn. Not a Stark.

2:27 all I’d say is that the bit about sorties not being tried and true is complete nonsense lol. A lot of sieges and assaults were delayed because of strong sorties, especially like the one shown in the show where they destroy the ram. Defending a city/fortified position is more about delay and cost than pure stopping power. In both the show and the books Tyrion makes Stannis pay for every inch he takes to the point where even if Stannis had won black water he’d have lost a lot of his bravest/most capable men and a decent amount of his ‘NCO’ types (minor lords/knights peasants could rally behind) in his first battle. Turning what on paper should’ve been an easy win into a costly victory (borderline pyrrhic). I think it has more to do with a combination of the marshal strength of veteran stormlanders, high morale among Stannis’s troops, and Stannis himself that Tyrion’s performance seems so poor. Against someone like Tarly or Tywin I think Stannis would’ve had an easier time given their more “orthodox” command styles. The only other person I could see coming up with something like Tyrion did with the wildfire is Rob tbh

I do t see Technologies advancing very far in this world due to the seasons. Yes they have long summers but they have equally long winter's meaning more time and labor is spent in agriculture and trying to survive.

I'd say Tywin should be on the list. His only notable victory was against the Reynes and Tarbecks. He lost every battle he ever fought against Robb, a green boy as he called him. He lost the entire Lannister fleet to Victarion Greyjoy in the Greyjoy Rebellion and he completely sat out Robert's Rebellion. I never understood why he was so hyped up. His greatest accomplishment seems to be using the power of Casterly Rock and the rest of the Westerlands to fight 2 minor houses. The only other accomplishment I can think of is keeping the peace with The Mad King on the throne, but Jon Arryn oversaw years of peace as well.

Jamie didn't kill the Mad King for the people of King's Landing. He did it because he was told to go kill Tywin.

Arthur Dayne and Jaimie Lannister are on the list of those that can, but Barristan Selmy isn't? Selmy is supposed to be on par with Dayne. They're supposed to be essentially equally skilled, but Arthur comes out on top if he has Dawn otherwise it's a coin flip. Pretty sure Jaimie considered Selmy to be better than him even in his old age. He at least acknowledged he was better than him in his prime.

You need to get your rules straight. Is it the Thrones-Verse? And so, anyone in the Verse's history? Because Daemon Targaryan would give most if not all on this list a run for their money.
